Why You Need to Start Dead Hanging

Welcome aboard the dead hang express, where hanging from a bar isn’t just a workout—it’s a game-changer for your daily life! Here’s why you should join the hanging revolution:

  1. Grip Strength: Ever wished opening jars or carrying groceries felt like a breeze? Dead hangs are your secret weapon. Strengthening your grip isn’t just about gym gains; it’s about making everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable.
  2. Spinal Decompression: Say goodbye to stiffness and hello to flexibility! Hanging is like hitting the reset button for your spine, relieving tension from all that sitting and scrolling. Feel lighter, taller, and ready to take on the world.
  3. Shoulder TLC: Let’s show those shoulders some love! Dead hangs are like a spa day for your shoulder muscles, keeping them flexible, strong, and injury-free. Say goodbye to achy shoulders and hello to effortless movement.
  4. Posture Perfection: Tired of feeling slouched and slumped? Dead hangs have your back—literally. They’ll help straighten you out, ease back pain, and boost your confidence with every hang. Stand tall, walk proud, and own your posture!
  5. Better Living: Who knew hanging could lead to a happier, healthier life? Strengthening your grip isn’t just about muscles; it’s about improving your overall well-being and quality of life. Feel more capable, more resilient, and more alive with each hang.

Chlorine in Drinking Water: Why This is a Problem

Since the 1800s, chlorine has been the go-to solution for purifying our drinking water, offering a cost-effective way to disinfect vast water supplies.

A recent study, featured in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, delves deep into this topic, uncovering a potential link between long-term exposure to trihalomethanes (THMs) in chlorinated water and the risk of colorectal cancer.

Researchers sifted through data from over 58,000 individuals, exploring their lifelong exposure to THMs by combining residential history records with water monitoring data.

The findings were eye-opening! Over nearly 17 years of follow-up, they identified over 1,900 cases of colorectal cancer, sparking curiosity about the potential impact of chlorinated water on our health.

Over an average follow-up period of 16.8 years, the study uncovered 1,913 cases of colorectal cancer, with 1,176 cases in men and 746 in women.

The results were revealing. Men exposed to high concentrations of THMs in drinking water (≥15 µg/L) showed a notable increase in colorectal cancer risk compared to those with no exposure.

This study isn’t just about facts and figures—it’s about uncovering the hidden truths lurking in our water supply. So, if you’re itching for more details and eager to uncover the full story, click this link to learn more.

PBM devices can help one supplement sunlight, when appropriate.

Ideally this is done at intensities similar to that of the sun and over a short period of time (10-30 minutes).

Fringe is one of the best red light devices- especially for its price point.  I love that it contains both red & infrared in one device and mimics sunlight.

From now until May 22nd, you can get 15% off any of Fringe’s red light products using the code VIN15.

Where to Start with Dead Hangs?

Ready to take the plunge? Here’s your ticket to the perfect dead hang:

  1. Find a bar that feels just right for you.
  2. Use a bench or steps if you need a boost to reach comfortably.
  3. Grab onto that bar with palms facing away, about shoulder-width apart.
  4. Take a deep breath, step off the bench, and let yourself hang freely.
  5. Aim for 45-60 seconds to start, then repeat for a total of 3 sets.
  6. And remember, you can hang out with us every day—just listen to your body and enjoy the ride!

So, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a curious newcomer, it’s time to hang loose and embrace the benefits of hanging. Your body will thank you, and your daily life will never be the same!

Weekly Challenge

100 Things to Do, Be, and Become

Take a sheet of paper and list numbers from 1 to 100.  In a single session, jot down 100 aspirations to Do, Be, or Become. While this may take a few hours, attempt to complete it in one sitting.  Make sure that these are tangible objectives, avoiding vague statements like “I want to be Happy.”  Feel free to make these goals as imaginative as you like!

Some examples include:

After this, you want to review your 100 things.  Beside each goal, indicate “1,” “5,” or “10” to signify the estimated time frame for achievement.  (This represents how long you expect a goal to take1 year, 5 years, 10 years)

Be honest with assessing how long each goal will take.

Finally, select your top 5 goals for 1 year, 5 years, and 10 years respectively.  If you’re not sure, reflect on your core values to determine which goals resonate most with you.

Now that you have these written down, create a vision board for your Top 5!  This has been key for me up until this point!  It helps reshape your beliefs over time.

Remember:

Belief = (Perception + Evidence) over Time.  There are no bad goals!  Only bad timelines!!!
